Description

Apparently what most Tiny Toon Adventures Fans and Ren and Stimpy Fans never knew was that there was a rejected Tiny Toon Adventures episode that was based on it's precedure from the Ren and Stimpy Show; Haunted House.

This is no joke, Bob Camp and Jim Smith (who worked on Tiny Toon Adventures before moving on to the Ren and Stimpy Show) did most of the storyboard, and instead of Ren and Stimpy, we had Hamton and Gogo in Ren and Stimpy's place.

The scrapped episode was called Hi Spirits and had most elements that would later be used on Haunted House.

But the Tiny Toons version had some elements that didn't make it to the Ren and Stimpy version like Hamton and Gogo as Pig Scouts and thinking that the haunted house would make a great headquarters, Hamton and Gogo mistaking the ghost as a cat, the ghost trying to make Hamton and Gogo get hit by a safe, Elmer Fudd as the bloody head fairy, and the ending. While the Ren and Stimpy version added some new elements like the ghost trying to scare Stimpy in the shower parodying Psycho, a Doug Funnie-like character as the bloody head fairy and the ending with the ghost committing suicide by drinking poison and coming back to life as a fat black naked man, leaving Ren and Stimpy confused.

But Steven Spielberg didn't like the idea for this episode and added a few changes to the episode like having a different plot, changing the title to Boo Ha Ha, and having Plucky taking Gogo's place instead.

I kind of do admit that Hi Spirits would be a more interesting episode than Boo Ha Ha, but I think that the Ren and Stimpy version was an improvement over the Tiny Toons one. Don't get me wrong, I like Tiny Toons, but I personally think that Hi Spirits was better off being a Ren and Stimpy episode rather than a Tiny Toons episode.

And in case your curious of what I'm talking about, Here's the link to the scrapped Tiny Toons episode:
